Last year on this day Baby Drake was getting ready to come out and meet his new Mommy and Daddy. He started by kicking and moving, by now his home was getting to be two sizes too small. Now mommy and daddy had no idea Baby Drake was on his way - all they knew was that this night Mommy's belly was really Dancing around and they thought it was an amazing sight to see, so they hurried and got the video camera out to capture all of your movements. The next morning Mommy woke up with Sharp pains and she thought... "hum, I wonder if today's the day?" So she called Daddy and told him that she was having contractions and they need to get ready to go to the hospital. Now Daddy thought this was one of those false alarms he's hears so much about so he didn't really believe Mommy. He just told her to keep sleeping, time the contractions and call him back later. Well after an hour of steady contractions she called again, and what do you think happened, that's right- the Daddy didn't believe her. So she waited patiently until she couldn’t stand it anymore and called the Daddy again and told him to get this butt home cause they were going to the hospital.
When he got home he started to help the panicked Mommy clean up the house and get it ready for the new baby. She told the Daddy to go change and pack a bag and he said, “No, that’s ok- I’ll just wait” Mommy asked him why he wasn’t going to change- when she realized what was happening she asked/stated to him, “You told them you were coming back to work didn’t you?!?” He said- “Yeah, I said I’d be back in an hour.” The Mommy then said- Nope, now change, pack a bag and get in the car…
Driving to the Hospital the Daddy was still in Denial. At the hospital when the nurse said, “I’m 99% sure you’re having this baby today” Daddy was still in Denial! I don’t if it was when the doctor or Baby Drake came that he finally gave into the fact that Today was the Day our baby was coming.
Mommy did so good, she didn’t yell, kick or scream. It only took a half hour of pushing and a total of 12 ½ hours from first contraction at 7:30 in the morning to 8:02pm when our beautiful little boy was delivered to us.
Now the beautiful Baby Drake did so good too! He didn’t yell, kick or scream either. Mommy didn’t even know Baby Drake had been born until the doctors told her.
The Mommy was now able to hold her baby for the first time- She remembers his little fingers gripping her hospital gown, he held on tight as the nurses took him away, pulling Mommy’s gown up as he left. Baby Drake was such a brave boy- he didn’t cry or fuss as he was poked & prodded, just waited patiently until he could be with his Mommy and Daddy again.
Baby Drake had so many wonderful people there who came to see him on his special day! They all loved him so much! Now a year later- they’re coming back to celebrate that momentous occasion!
Thank you Baby Drake for coming to this Mommy and Daddy!!
